6-AXIS KAWASAKI ROBOT FOR PAINTING AUTOMATION

On September 28th and 29th, Makor celebrated the 50th Anniversary with a grand Open House, that was particularly focused on the innovations carried on by the company.

Many of us in Deep Vision Consulting were involved in this challenging endeavour and even gave up to the summer vacations; but finally we all got the honor to see our star shining bright during those days as the premiere of the Open House: we’re talking about the prototype of the 6-Axis Kawasaki Robot for painting automation.

Deep Vision Consulting developed all the computer vision, the kinodynamic path planning and the management of robot movements that lay behind this beautiful video:

In order to appreciate this, consider that the robot movements are computed on-the fly while the pieces, laying on the conveyor, pass under the 3D laser profilometers.
The generated movements include avoidance for collisions, self-collisions and singularities.
